Keone Madrid found dance at age 15 in his hometown of San Diego. Dancing for teams such as Future Shock, Formality, and Culture Shock. Keone finally found a permanent home as a dancer and director with San Diego's finest, Choreo Cookies. As a teacher he has been able to travel with dance partner and wife, Mariel Martin.
Mariel started dancing at age 13 in her hometown of Boulder, Colorado. When she was 17 she moved to the Bay Area (San Francisco/Oakland) and danced there with a team called Funkanometry. When she was 23, she moved to San Diego and joined Choreo Cookies as well. In 2008 Choreo Cookies took first place at the Body Rock Hip Hop dance competition and in 2012 they were featured on the FOX television show Mobbed.
Recently Keone and Mari have had great success as choreographers. Their work can be seen in the 2012 Hyundai commercial as well as on the Ellen Degeneres show. They were also paired with singer/songwriter Christina Grimmie for a breathtaking collaboration for Jon Chu’s DS2DIO Remixed.
Keone and Mari feel blessed that they can share their talent and their passion with different people in places all around the world.
