Rino Nakasone was born in Okinawa, Japan and grew up with a passion for dance. She taught herself how to dance by watching footage of her idols, recording artists, Michael Jackson, Janet Jackson and TLC. After moving to Los Angeles in 1999, her career as a dancer and choreographer soon took off.
As an accomplished performer, Rino has danced on three world tours, Harajuku Lovers Tour and Sweet Escape Tour with Gwen Stefani as “Music”, one of the famed Harajuku Girls, and on Britney Spears’ Onyx Hotel Tour. She also has made appearances on the Grammy Awards, the American Music Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards working with such artists as Britney Spears, Missy Elliot, Mary J. Blige, Avril Lavigne, Chris Brown, Ciara, Rihanna, Janet Jackson, and Justin Bieber. She has also performed with Christina Aguilera on NBC’s X-Factor as well as in commercials for iPod, Nike, & Hard Tail and is featured in the popular dance films, You Got Served, Dance Flick and Honey 2.
Rino is a member of the all-female dance crew, Beat Freaks, who finished second in season 3 of MTV's America's Best Dance Crew as well as appearing in the music videos Somebody To Love for Justin Beiber and Love Come Down for P Diddy & Dirty Money.
As a choreographer, Rino is best known for her work with Korean entertainment label SM Entertainment, choreographing for many of their artists, including SHINee, Girl's Generation, f(x), U-know, Max from Tohoshinki, and BoA. In addition, her choreography can be seen in the film, Go For It with Aimee Garcia, Britney Spears’ Outrageous music video (associate choreographer), Kovas’ Wax On Wax Off and Common’s Announcement music videos, Janet Jackson’s performance of Call On Me for Good Morning America (associate choreographer) and serving as a contributing choreographer for Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale Tour (Toxic).
With her career building momentum she most recently has completed choreography duties for Leehom Wang’s 2012 World Tour.
